In this course I learned exactly what a capstone project was. I learned how to reach back to all the concepts I had learned to develop a project that would be influential on society. I learned that just learning information does not help the field but applying those concepts to make a difference is what is important.
My long term goal in this field is to start my own early childhood development center that focuses on the special needs of children and their families. This center will educate children, support families, and promote diversity inside and outside the classroom.
To my colleagues and instructors, I would first like to say thank you! I have learned so much from each of you. I made it through these course with your support, kind words, and suggestions. I wish you the best as you continue in your journey. I hope that I have also inspired you in your work the same way you have done for me.
Hi Shorlone,
ReplyDeleteI would like to say that it was a pleasure to get to know you over the past couple of years. It seems we always ended up in the same groups. It is amazing how much we have grown over the last few years. I know that we can make a positive difference in the world today!

Helo Shorlone,
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best in your endeavor to develop an educational program for children who have a special need. Yes, we need more of those programs and I am sure that those families as well as the community will have a deep appreciation for the program.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us during our time in the program and once again if not mentioned before, you did have some great contributions and I wish you the best.

Shorlone,
ReplyDeleteI love your quote and agree that Education is the most powerful weapon that can be used to change the world. As I grow as a teacher and with knowledge of the different things that are going on in our education system I understand how in some cases education is used to allow the richer to get richer and the poor to stay in poverty. As a teacher and a future community activist I look forward to making sure that education is used as a tool to help everyone succeed. Good luck with you Special Needs child development center. It saddens me to know that at least in my area there is no center that specializes strictly in special needs children. That is a project I would love to watch grow and even invest in the future.
